Staging a house is one of the most crucial (yet often overlooked) processes of real estate photography. It’s important to make sure you are showcasing the assets of your home, rather than highlighting the clutter. Not everyone knows how to prepare, so here are some things you can do before we visit to make sure your home is photo-ready:

  1. Store all personal items and anything that you don’t want to be photographed. (electronics, clothing, shoes, toys, office papers, etc.)

  2. Completely open all blinds.

  3. Turn on all lamps and overhead lights.

  4. Make sure all beds are made and all toilet seats are down.

  5. Make sure floors and surfaces are clean. (Dust and dirt show up all too well in HD photos).

  6. Keep soap dispensers under the sink. (This way they won’t be seen but they will be available).

  7. Turn off any fans. (Motion blur will ruin the photos).

  8. Add a fresh bouquet or bowl of fruit to instantly make any room pop. (The photos will be 10x more impressive).
